KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The woman who was wounded while shielding children from gunfire during the Feb. 20 mass shooting in Kalamazoo was honored on the Steve Harvey Show.
Tiana Carruthers was named “Harvey’s Hero” and received $10,000 during Monday’s show.
Carruthers told FOX 17 that she credits her daughter and her family for getting her through these hard times.
Six people were killed during the February shooting spree. Carruthers and Abigail Kopf were wounded and continue to recover.
