Woman missing from Kalamazoo found safe in Tennessee

KALAMAZOO, Mich. —  A missing woman from Kalamazoo has been found safe in Tennessee.

On Friday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety  said Shelly Apple, who suffers from multiple mental illnesses, was found unnarharmed. Police said they have made contact with authorities down south.

Apple was last seen on May 11th at 2:00 a.m.  She is 42-years-old, approximately 5’6″ and 170 pounds.  She could be seen driving a 2003 green Volkswagen with a Michigan license plate DKA7180. She did not have a cell phone.

Apple is bipolar and additionally suffers from schizophrenia. It is currently unknown if she took her medication.
