STURGIS, Mich. — A 20-year-old woman and her dog died after being hit by a car Wednesday evening.

Sturgis Police say that Michal Charity Webb of Sturgis was walking her dog about 7:45pm at the intersection of S. Centerville and W. Fawn River Road when the crash happened.  The vehicle was driven by a 25-year-old woman from Howe, Indiana.

Webb was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.  She died Thursday afternoon.

Police say that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
