WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 35-year-old Gaylord man is in jail for allegedly assaulting an employee at an adult bookstore.
Grand Traverse deputies were called to the Pleasures 4 U store in Monday afternoon about 4:30pm by a 34-year-old employee of the store. She told them a man had come into the store, trapped her behind the counter and groped her. She said the man also threw a UPC scanner at her, hitting her in the head. She was able to escape and called 911.
When a deputy arrived, the man was still in the store and came at the deputy with a broken mannequin arm. The deputy pulled his taser and the man gave up without any further incidents.
The man was jailed on counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, 4th degree, Assault and Battery, Malicious Destruction of Property and Disabling a Telecommunications Device.
