GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP/FOX 17) — Brewery Vivant has created a beer that attempts to put flavor to a classical music piece inspired by monks.
The Grand Rapids’ brewery’s latest specialty beer, “Carmina Beerana,” pays homage to Carl Orff’s classic “Carmina Burana.” The beer is part of the brewery’s collaboration with the Grand Rapids Symphony.
A brew launch event will take place Monday at 8 p.m. at the brewery, where the beer will debut and the symphony’s brass musicians and chorus singers will entertain customers. A stein of the beer is $5.
Carmina Beerana is a single malt and single hop beer. It will be on tap while supplies last, but will also be available to take home in growlers.
