GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Home ice did not prove to be the difference for the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday night. After losing the first two games in Cleveland, each by one goal, the Griffins lost game 3 at Van Andel Arena, 2-1.
Ryan Sproul score the lone goal for the Griffins with just over two minutes left in the 2nd period, but the Griffins couldn't get anything else past Joonas Korpisalo. The Lake Erie netminder stopped 41 of 42 shots for the game, including 22 by the Griffins in the 1st period.
The Griffins now face elimination with a 3-0 series deficit. Only three teams in Calder Cup Playoff history have ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. Game 4 is at Van Andel Arena on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
