HOLLAND, Mich. — A female driver who originally fled from Holland police early Saturday morning eventually was arrested in Allegan County.

At 1 a.m. Saturday, Holland Department of Public Safety officers observed a vehicle traveling at approximately 60 mph southbound on Washington Avenue near 40th Street. They attempted to initiate a traffic stop for the speed violation but the driver failed to stop and fled, continuing southbound on Washington to Blue Star Highway and eventually continuing south onto 58th Street.

Allegan County Sheriff’s Office deputies began to assist with the pursuit.

The chase continued into Fennville where a Holland Public Safety sergeant observed numerous pedestrians in the area and terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.

Allegan County deputies later located the vehicle and the female driver was taken into custody on multiple charges. She is being held in the Allegan County jail.

The incident remains under investigation by the Holland Department of Public Safety and Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
