KALAMAZOO, Mich. — New dash camera has been released from the night a man went on a shooting rampage in Kalamazoo, killing six people and wounding two others.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety released 26 DVDs Monday that contained over 17 hours of dashcam video from the night of February 20th.

One of those videos was from Seelye KIA on Stadium Drive where 17-year-old Tyler Smith and his father Richard were shot and killed. The video shows Tyler's girlfriend, who had been hiding inside their car, meet with the first responding officers.

In another video, officers are discussing the events that happened at the Cracker Barrel restaurant where four others — Mary Jo Nye, Mary Lou Nye, Dorothy Brown, and Barbara Hawthorne — were killed. Abigail Kopf, 14, was critically wounded.  They discussed which way the suspect would have gone.

Tiana Carruthers was the first victim of the night and survived. She was the mother who bravely used her body to shield children from gunfire.

Jason Dalton is in custody, charged with six murders and several other felony counts.  He was determined to be fit to stand trial last week.  His next hearing is scheduled for May 20th at the Kalamazoo County Courthouse.
