NEW YORK CITY — Detroit Tigers star Justin Verlander and model Kate Upton are engaged after dating for three years, E! News is reporting.
Upton unveiled her massive engagement ring at the Met Gala in New York City. She told E! News that Verlander proposed to her right before the baseball season started.
The couple isn’t rushing on the wedding, and don’t have a date planned yet, Upton said.
Upton – a St. Joseph, Mich. native – is best known for her appearances in editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She’s also acted in the films Tower Heist and The Other Woman.
The Met Gala is a celebrity fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
