BELDING, Mich. (AP) — Police are looking into the theft of a bench memorializing a 10-year-old boy from a family’s home in Ionia County.
According to Belding Police Chief Dale Nelson, the bench memorializes Devon Morrison, who drowned in 2013. The Sentinel-Standard of Ionia reports the bench given to the boy’s family was taken sometime between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The bench is made of wood and has the boy’s name, a cross and a carving of a boy fishing.
Nelson says hopefully whoever took the bench will return it to the family.
