Early morning fire damages vacant home in Grand Rapids

House burns on GR`s NW side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A fire broke out in a vacant house in the 1300 block of Penn Avenue NW in Grand Rapids. Fire units first responded just before 4:30 a.m.

The house suffered extensive damage despite the efforts of firefighters to knock down the fire.

No one was hurt, and the fire is under investigation.
