Several Portage schools locked down after report of possible gunshots

PORTAGE, Mich. – Several Portage Public Schools were put on “lock-up procedures” Tuesday morning after police received calls of possible gunshots in the area.

The Department of Public Safety reports they received calls at 8:15am and again at 10:17am of possible gunshots being heard in the area of Isabelle Street, Robinswood Street and Angling Road.  Officers say they have checked the area and not located any threats or the origin of the gunshots.

At 2:45pm, police reported that they had found no immediate threat to the public.
