GRAND RAPIDS, Mich -- The Grand Rapids Griffins came home to Van Andel Arena to win game three, 4-1, to sweep the Milwaukee Admirals in the opening round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Griffins benefited from an unlikely sequence of events as back-to-back  goals from the Griffins ripped through the back of the Admirals net.  The first goal was scored by Griffins defenseman Brian Lashoff.  The second goal was scored by forward Anthony Mantha.  Both goals were reviewed and both were upheld, giving the Griffins a 3-1 lead heading into the 2nd period.

Mantha scored two goals in the game.  The Griffins advance to face the Lake Erie Monsters in the Central Division Finals.  The Monsters are coming off a sweep of the Rockford Icehogs.
