POLKTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man was injured in a one-car rollover on I-96 Sunday morning.
At 7 a.m. Sunday, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on eastbound Interstate 96 near 88th Avenue in Polkton Township. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Dean Borghi, 47, of North Muskegon injured and he was transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation showed that Borghi was driving a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound on 96 when he lost control of the SUV, which left the roadway, entered the median and rolled over.
Borghi was able to exit the vehicle on his own before emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
Police said it is unknown what caused Borghi to lose control of the vehicle.
He was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
