NEAR HAMILTON, Mich. -- Dispatchers in Allegan County say a medical helicopter was requested at the scene of a traffic crash involving at least two vehicles on Wednesday morning.

It happened at around 7:15 a.m. in the area of 58th and 134th, that is in Manlius Township near Hamilton. Police urge drivers to avoid the area.

Crews at the scene tell FOX 17 that the crash involved two cars that collided head-on.  Michigan State Police say that one car, driven by a man in his 20's, drifted across the center line and struck another car head on.  That man was pinned in his vehicle and had to be extricated and flown to the hospital for serious injuries.  The man's brother came to the scene and told crews that the man was coming home from work after working third shift.

The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 20's was also pinned and had to be extricated, but did not suffer major injuries. Her baby boy was in the back seat of the vehicle and was not injured.

We'll have more updates as they become available.
