GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- In honor of Mobility Awareness Month in May, the fifth annual Local Hero contest has begun to give away three wheelchair accessible vehicles.
The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) has opened its annual national promotion working to raise awareness of different abilities as well as vehicle solutions for all people.
For a chance to win, you may enter your short story about why you are a Local Hero at MobilityAwarenessMonth.com. This year NMEDA, working with Clock Mobility, will award three wheelchair accessible vehicles: one to a caregiver, one to a senor who is 60-years-old and older, and one person in the 'general' category.
Last year FOX 17 covered the first West Michigan winner: Collene Van Noord of Holland who won her minivan, as she is recognized as a role model and Local Hero.
