Broncos ‘tougher’ after spring

KALAMAZOO, Mich -- The Western Michigan football team held its annual Wooden Oar Spring Game on Saturday in front of 2,950 people at Waldo Stadium.  The Gold team, the offense, topped the defense, the Brown team, 45-21 in a game that featured nearly 90 plays.  Wide receiver Carrington Thompson caught three passes for 85 yards.  Backup quarterback Tom Flacco finished with 74 passing yards and a touchdown pass and 62 rushing yards and another TD.
