ROCKFORD, Mich. - The Rockford High School Marching Band received a pleasant surprise Friday morning.
The band learned that they will be marching in the 2017 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The band was selected out of hundreds of applicants nationwide. Only ten bands are selected to be a part of the parade.
School officials, including the band director Brian Phillips, worked secretly with the Macy's Parade staff to make the announcement a surprise.
