GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Southwest Airlines on Tuesday started nonstop flights from Gerald R. Ford International Airport to the Chicago Midway Airport.

The 30-minute flight is a quick and easy connector to Midway, which then flies to 72 other cities across the U.S.   There will be three daily flights between Grand Rapids and Chicago.

Fares for the flights are as low as $49 one way.

Southwest has been operating out of Ford Airport since 2013.  They now offer non-stop service to six cities, including Orlando and Denver.
