COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- Beau Burrows surrendered four runs, walked three batters, and didn't make it past the fourth inning in his Midwest League debut -- and the West Michigan Whitecaps remained winless at Fifth Third Ballpark in 2016 with a 6-1 loss to the Lake County Captains on Monday.
The 19-year-old Burrows, the Detroit Tigers' first-round pick in 2015, walked the first batter he faced, hit the third, and then gave up a two-run triple to Francisco Mejia to get in a 2-0 hole just one-third of an inning into his first MWL appearance.
Jose Azocar went 4-for-4 with an RBI for West Michigan (2-2).
