GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Traffic is flowing again on U.S. 131 northbound in Grand Rapids after a multi-vehicle accident shut down the highway Sunday afternoon.
The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on U.S. 131 near the Interstate 196 West exit to Holland and also the Pearl Street exit ramp. Vehicles involved in the crash were spread out over three lanes, necessitating the closure of the highway while vehicles and debris were removed.
Traffic was rerouted off the highway and onto the Pearl Street exit, but remained backed up while the area was cleaned up.
Lanes reopened around 4:20 p.m.
