GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Rapids Police have a man in custody after a lengthy standoff in the city's northeast side Wednesday afternoon.

Raymond Bettison, 45, was found in the attic of the home just before 7 p.m. Police say he was brought out of the house on a stretcher after being bitten in the leg by a K-9 unit. He is being treated at the scene by AMR.

Police say that he was wanted on a concealed carry felony out of Allegan County. Bettison was under surveillance by the FBI and ran into a home when officials attempted to make contact with him around 2 p.m. Initial searches of the house failed until he was located in the attic, sometime around 6:30 p.m.

This is a developing story.  We'll update it as more information becomes available.
