85 employees laid off at Grand Rapids Plastics

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Grand Rapids manufacturer announced last week they’ll be laying off 85 employees.

Grand Rapids Plastics, Inc. notified the Workforce Development Agency on February 24 of the layoffs.  Some of the affected employees were laid off on February 24th and the others will be laid off on May 6th.

The company reports in their notification that FCA, LLC., (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) canceled additional contracts and all orders with Grand Rapids Plastics on February 18. FCA is the main customer of Grand Rapids Plastics, so the layoffs are permanent.

85 employees at Grand Rapids Plastics are affected.  The company is at four locations on Roger B. Chaffee Boulevard.
