KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Police in Kalamazoo are searching for a man accused of shooting his girlfriend late Sunday night, the result of a domestic assault.
It happened at around 11:24 p.m. at an apartment on Duke Lane. Police were called out to reports that a woman had been shot. When they arrived, they found a 20-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder and arm. She had managed to get to her neighbor’s apartment.
The victim told officers that her 22-year-old boyfriend had assaulted her and then shot her. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police tried tracking down the suspect, but he was nowhere to be found.
