BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. — The Berrien County Bomb Squad was dispatched to deal with a “suspicious device” that was believed to be a pipe bomb, deputies say.
Friday, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate a “suspicious device” that was found on a piece of equipment owned by Wrights Tree Service. The object was described as a piece of black PVC pipe capped at both ends.
The Berrien County Bomb Squad was brought in to dispose of it. It was discovered that the pipe contained no explosive and was deemed a hoax.
The incident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
