Man, 19, charged in Macaroni Grill armed robbery

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 19-year-old Grand Rapids man has been charged in connection withthe armed robbery at Macaroni Grill, 5525 28th St. S.E.

Diantae Rashaad Townsend is charged with one count of armed robbery in connection with the Feb. 12 incident, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a release from the sheriff’s department, Townsend entered the restaurant at about 9:30 a.m. and “acted like he was interested in applying for a job.”

When he was alone with the manager in her office he allegedly robbed her at gunpoint.   Townsend was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 12, according to a release.
