HOLLAND, Mich – Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at a Holland manufacturer Sunday evening.

Authorities say the alarm was triggered at LG Chem Michigan Inc. in the 800 block of East 48th Street around 7:30 p.m.  Dispatchers tell FOX 17 that crews reported a small fire burning once they arrived on scene and asked for additional personnel.  However LG Chem Human Resource Manager, Jeremy Hagemeyer, says it was actually a frozen pipe that triggered the alarm.  Hagemeyer tells FOX 17 in a written statement that the pipe burst from the extreme cold and the volume of water being used tripped the alarm.

Firefighters had the situation under control and cleared the area as of 9:00 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
