GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The man who police say went into a Grand Rapids elementary school and allegedly sexually assaulted two girls is facing another charge.
Jalen Devonte Harris, 22, is now charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct in another case. According to court documents, Harris allegedly sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl in June 2015.
Grand Rapids Police say the victim knew Harris prior to the assault.
Harris was previously charged in connection with two Feb. 2 sexual assaults at River City Scholars School 944 Evergreen SE.
According to court documents, Harris did not check in at the office when he got to the school and made contact with a girl. The girl had leggings on and he asked her to take them down as well. She refused. He then allegedly put his hands on her thighs and she ran from the room.
After that, Harris allegedly did the same thing with another girl. She also fled from the room.
He is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of attempted second-degree criminal sexual conduct in that case.
