West Michigan – Another round of snow is headed for the area the next couple of days. Much like this last system, some parts of West Michigan will see over a foot and other areas only 1 inch or less.
A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect on Friday morning at 7 AM and continue through Saturday at 4 PM. A Winter Weather Advisory will also go into effect on Friday morning at 7 AM and continue through Saturday at 4 PM.
Our Future Track model shows snow developing Friday morning as another cold front tracks into the state. The snow will continue into the afternoon with temperatures in the lower 20s.
The snow will transition to lake-effect by Friday evening and continue overnight and into Saturday. Winds will be northwest at 10-20 mph so the heaviest snow will be south and southwest of Grand Rapids. Blowing and drifting snow is likely with temperatures only in the teens on Saturday.
Most areas west of US 131 will see at least 3-6 inches by Saturday. With a northwest wind, parts of Allegan and Van Buren counties will see over 12 inches of snow.
