PORTAGE, Mich. — No one is injured after a fire at an apartment building Sunday morning.
Portage Department of Public Safety said it happened around 9:45 a.m. at Davis Creek Apartments on Meredith Street in Portage.
Officials said the initial caller reported a pot on the stove with flames showing.
When fire crews arrived, there was heavy black smoke coming from the rear of the building on the second floor.
According to officials the fire was put out at about 10:30 a.m.
Officials said four other apartments were affected by the fire.
The fire is still under investigation.
