Colder air headed for West Michigan

Posted

West Michigan – After a fairly mild start, colder temperatures will arrive for the middle of next week.

The upper level winds will become north-northwest next week with the flow diving south from northern Canada. This will tap into arctic air and drive it into West Michigan.

The 6-10 Day Temperature outlook (February 9-13)  keeps temperatures below average over the eastern U.S. with the coldest air over the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley. Average high temperature for Grand Rapids during that period is 31-32° with the average low of 16-17°.  Lake effect snow showers are also possible during that period.
