GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Fire Department has had a busy Wednesday morning, fighting three south side structure fires.

The first was called in about 9:30am in the 1100 block of Logan Street SE.  The fire started on the second floor of the residence and everyone at the home were able to get out safely. The fire was put out quickly.

In the second fire, first responders found that not everyone had been able to get out of the home in the 1100 block of Evergreen Street SE. One person was taken to the hospital because of smoke inhalation.  That fire also started on the second floor of the building.

The third incident happened just after 11:00am near the corner of Palace and Burton Street SW. Flames were showing from the two-story wood-frame home when crews arrived.  No one was known to be injured in that fire.
