WYOMING, Mich. — The dean of students from Wyoming High School was fired after he allegedly assaulted a teenage student and another employee. Wyoming Police say that it happened Tuesday.
Rueben Riley, 31, was sent to a classroom to help deal with a misbehaving student. The two got into an altercation, which led to the student being thrown to the ground, police said.
Superintendent Dr. Thomas Reeder said that Riley was terminated for mishandling the incident.
Riley, the dean of students and assistant coach on the football team, was arraigned Wednesday for misdemeanor assault. He was released on a $100 bond.
Before working at Wyoming High, Riley played football at the University of Michigan and in the NFL.
