Tomas Nosek, Ryan Sproul, and Jakub Kindl scored for Grand Rapids, who -- after a franchise-record 15 straight home wins -- lost at Van Andel Arena for a second straight game.
The Griffins and Americans finish the two-game series on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Grand Rapids.
