GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Griffins thought they were going to a shootout on Friday night against the Lake Erie Monsters. That was until the referees got together and decided the game had been over for more almost half of the five-minute overtime period.
A shot by Nick Jensen 2:08 into overtime was reviewed and ruled a goal after time had expired in overtime -- giving the Griffins a 1-0 win and extending their franchise-record home win streak to 14 games.
Jared Coreau stopped all 30 shots he faced in goal for Grand Rapids.
