HASTINGS, Mich. – A man accused of raping an eight-year-old girl who had Down’s Syndrome in 1989 has pleaded guilty.
David Heinsen entered the plea last week in Barry County Court. He pleaded guilty to one count of CSC in exchange for having other counts dropped. He is still facing charges in federal court for child pornography.
Heinsen, 69, was charged with the crimes in September. Investigators alleged that he had over 650,000 images and 3,000 videos of child porn at his Nashville, Michigan home. He also admitted to police to assaulting other children.
He will be sentenced in February.
