13-year-old girl arrested after allegedly stabbing boy with pencil on school bus

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A 12-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after allegedly being stabbed in the neck on Thursday afternoon.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. in the area of Spring Street and Carl Avenue in Battle Creek.

The Battle Creek Police Department said kids got in an argument on a school bus and a 13-year-old girl pulled out a pencil and swung it around before allegedly stabbing the boy in the back of the neck.  Another boy was reportedly  stabbed in the arm.

Police said the suspect arrested and was charged with felonious assault. The fight reportedly escalated  after comments were made about the female suspect over the last few days.

The 12-year-old boy was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said the other boy involved was not hurt.
