GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man was killed in a car accident on Sunday afternoon, when his vehicle crossed the median of East Beltline Avenue and struck a snowbank.
It happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. on northbound East Beltline Avenue near Leonard St. NE in Grand Rapids. Police say the victim, identified as a 54-year-old man from Ada, was described by witnesses as moving very erratically while behind the wheel. He then swerved off the road, crossed the median into the southbound lanes, and struck a snowbank.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
