The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning to start at 7:00pm on Saturday and run until 7:00pm Sunday for much of West Michigan.
Areas not under the warning are under Winter Storm Advisories.
Snow will develop by early Saturday evening and spread over all of the area by midnight. The heaviest snow should fall between midnight and around 6 am Sunday.
The snow will taper to flurries by mid-morning on Sunday with some lake-effect snow showers developing during the afternoon. Temperatures will start around 30 early Sunday, and fall into the lower 20s during the afternoon. Winds will become north-northwest at 15-30 mph with some blowing and drifting.
Snowfall amounts will generally range from 4-6 inches across most of West Michigan by Sunday afternoon. Some isolated amounts over 6 inches are possible. Lighter amounts should fall over the southeast part of the state.
