BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The snow is starting to fall, roads are getting slick and cars are starting to crash.
The Battle Creek Police Department sent out an advisory to avoid northbound M-66. That stretch has reopened after several crashes. Drivers should still take it slow.
The Michigan Department of Transportation also reports two lanes of southbound US-131 south of 44th Street are also blocked due to crashes. They also reported that I-96 westbound at 28th Street has a crash, but that has been cleared.
2″ to 4″ inches of snow is expected in some areas this afternoon through Saturday morning. A Winter Weather Advisoryis in effect for several West Michigan counties including Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Kalamazoo and Calhoun, until 11:00am Saturday.
