M-37 reopens following deadly crash in southern Barry County

JOHNSTOWN TWP., Mich. – One person was killed and another was hurt following  a crash along M-37 in Barry County on Thursday.

The road was closed at Strickland Road in Johnstown Township until around 6:30 p.m..

The Barry County Sheriff’s Office said the crash involving a pair of pick-up trucks happened just after 4:00 p.m.

Police said the driver hurt in the crash was flown to a Kalamazoo via AeroMed, while the other person involved was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police haven’t identified either driver yet, only saying the deceased victim in the crash is a male.
