SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. -- Ten children from South Haven Elementary Schools and St. Basil Catholic School participated in a 'Shop With a Cop' event with local police officers Thursday.
The children, all 5th graders or younger, received $100 to spend at Walmart and then had lunch at the Vineyard Restaurant.
This is the first time South Haven Police have participated in the 'Shop With a Cop' event.
"One of the little boys that I had, his mom's getting married, and so he bought her a necklace for her wedding day, and it's very sweet," said South Haven Schools Liaison Officer Shawn Olney.
