SIX LAKES, Mich. – The pastor of a Montcalm County church has an extra couple of words for the person who spray painted “haters” and “hipocrets” on the church doors this weekend: “Are Welcome!”
Pastor Tim Eldred, of New Beginnings Church in Six Lakes told FOX 17 that they believe that the person who is responsible for the vandalism is crying for help and that “we need to pray for that person.” The vandalism happened sometime between 5:00pm Saturday and 8:30am Sunday.
Investigators tell the church that there have been reports at two or three other churches in recent weeks. Eldred says New Beginnings hasn’t had any problems in the past.
Eldred says there are two or three members of their congregation that are law enforcement officers and keep an eye out on the building.
