NORTON SHORES, Mich. – Norton Shores Police are investigating a 12-year-old girl’s report of a suspicious vehicle following her, just a couple of days after reports another girl made of an attempted abduction.
Thursday’s incident happened at the corner of Wickham and Columbus just before 3:00pm according to a police press release.
The Mona Shores student told police that while she was walking home from school, a white minivan began following her very slowly. When she turned around, the driver of the van motioned for her to come back towards the van. She took off running to her home. Police were called about the incident at about 6:30pm.
The van was described as having rust on the hood. Police say the girl did not get a look at the driver, just the arm motioning to her.
Tuesday, a 15-year-old Mona Shores student said a man attempted to abduct her at a bus stop at Grand Haven Road and Mt. Garfield Road. The teen told police that a man told her to get in his van and allegedly threatened her when she refused. He was driving a white minivan that had rust over the passenger side rear wheel and drove off when a school bus approached.
