IONIA, Mich. — A corrections officer was injured after allegedly being pushed down the stairs by a prison inmate.
It happened around noon on Thursday at the Michigan Reformatory in Ionia. Officials tell FOX 17 News an inmate failed to follow commands from the corrections officer. Chris Gautz from the Michigan Department of Correction also confirms the inmate became angry and pushed the corrections officer down from the top of the stairs.
Gautz said the officer was awake and talking, but suffered a blow to the head.
