GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The 8th annual Hot New Year’s Eve Party is moving from Calder Plaza to the intersection of Grandville Avenue and Cherry, the organization announced in a release.

The venue change comes aftera lower than expected turnout at last year’s Calder Plaza celebration.   Organizers told FOX 17 that between 12,000 and 15,000 people attended that event, well below their goal of between 30,000 and 40,000.

This year a slew of performers will take the stage at Grandville/Cherry before the ball drops.    The performers include GR Big Talent winner Ja’leeyna Dooley and Tryon.   Five Knives, Kevin Rudolf and Carolina Liar will also perform, according to a release.

HOT-FM is also allowing someone to propose on stage at the event, with a free engagement ring provided by Paul Medewar Fine Jewelry.  If you’re considering proposing this New Year’s Eve, you can visittheir website to register to win.

The party kicks off at 7 p.m. Dec. 31.
