OSCEOLA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities in Osceola County are trying to find the owner of an SUV after it was found in the Muskegon River.

Police found a 2003 GMC Yukon had been driven into the river near the 7000 block of Trout Haven Drive in Osceola Township around 10 a.m. Sunday.

The vehicle belongs to Donald “Garry” Tiegen and police said it had been driven into the river from his property. Tiegen, 60, wasn’t inside and troopers were unable to find him.

Neighbors also told investigators they hadn’t seen the man for several days, but relatives said they’d last spoken to him by phone the evening prior.

Family members told police Tiegen is in poor health and might be disoriented or confused.

The Michigan State Police dive team will resume searching the river Monday morning.  MSP aviation and canine teams are currently searching the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
