Snow spreading throughout the area this morning on FOX 17 Live Radar. It will continue to move through the area this morning with snow increasing around lunchtime.
Let’s look at Future Track just shy of 9 AM. Snow continues to spread throughout most of West Michigan as temperatures hover around the freezing mark.
Heavier snow bands pick up in most of our area around lunchtime, and this is will be when we receive the most accumulation.
Higher snowfall rates continue to the southeast by the evening, but lighter snow begins to fall from the northwest as the storm’s center moves off to the east.
By the evening, the snow begins to diminish to just a few flakes flying, with most of the accumulation already in the rearview mirror. Temps fall below freezing, so roads untreated/less traveled are likely to begin to freeze up at this time.
Totals are looking to be lighter north of Interstate 96. We can expect 1-3 inches in those areas, with heavier totals to the south and east of the interstate.
The National Weather Service keeps us under a Winter Weather Advisory until early Sunday morning. We’ll have the latest updates on the FOX 17 Weather page throughout the day.
