ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — One man was injured in a one-vehicle rollover Friday night.
The accident occurred at 9:40 p.m. Friday at 3352 64th Avenue, located south of Chicago Drive between Chicago Drive and Riley in Zeeland Township.
AeroMed was called to the crash scene where the driver of an SUV – later identified as Zeeland resident Joseph Reed, 26 – sustained serious injuries after being pinned inside his vehicle. After being extricated, the driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Ottawa County deputies say that Reed was driving southbound when his car drifted into a ditch on the opposite of the road. Then, it continued into a driveway before rolling over itself.
It is unclear right now if Reed was wearing his seatbelt.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies told FOX 17 NEWS that Reed was the vehicle’s only occupant and was alert and talking at the time he was transported to the hospital.
The roadway was closed to traffic for emergency personnel to respond followed by cleanup.
