Pedestrian struck, injured on Leonard Street in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A car struck a pedestrian around 6:35 a.m. Thursday on Leonard Street just west of Plymouth Avenue. Police did not identify the pedestrian but confirmed there were injuries.

A 29-year-old man was struck as he crossed the street west of the intersection. He was said to be in serious condition at Butterworth Hospital.

The westbound lanes of Leonard Street were closed pending investigation until just before 9 a.m.
